The Aims of Meniere's Australia

MA's aims are:

  • To offer direct personal support to people with Meniere's plus their carers, family and friends
  • To facilitate and encourage the exchange of information about Meniere's disease, leading to better management strategies
  • To provide the opportunity for people with Meniere's, their carers, family and friends to come together for mutual support and friendship
  • To raise public awareness of Meniere's and its effect on peoples’ lives
  • To assist health professionals understand the effects of Meniere's on the individual and family
  • To encourage research which will lead to more effective treatment and a cure for Meniere's
  • To raise money to ensure the MA continues and to allow it to achieve its aims

In line with this strategy the Meniere's Information and Resource Centre web site aims to:

  1. Provide people affected by Meniere's and other vestibular disorders, their family and carers with:


    • Information about Meniere's disease and related topics
    • An opportunity to purchase information resources relevant to Meniere's disease
    • Information about current medical research relevant to Meniere's disease
    • An insight into how people with Meniere's experience the condition
    • Links to other web sites that offer information relevant to Meniere's
    • Information about events of interest to people affected by Meniere's
    • Information about support options including membership of MA

  2. Encourage people affected by Meniere's and other vestibular disorders, their family and carers to join MA.
  3. Generate income from resource sales.
  4. Constitute a reference and referral point for health professionals and other organizations that have an interest in Meniere's or related conditions and symptoms.
